Auckland Museum AQUA Trail

Auckland Museum AQUA Trail

Follow Auckland Museum’s  first mobile trail to uncover the water stories behind some of the incredible objects in their galleries — from Wild Child to Maori Court, Origins to the Armoury.

What makes an albatross ‘cry’? Why did people in Elizabethan England water their floors? How does water help shape a Japanese sword? How did Gallipoli soldiers quench their thirst when their wells ran dry?

Weave your way through the Museum’s displays and discover the intriguing water stories they have to tell.

Bring the AQUA TRAIL to life with video, audio, images, quizzes and activities on your mobile device.

Developed for Apple products and best viewed on iPhone and iPod. Use your mobile device and earphones and try it out.

The Auckland Museum AQUA Trail was developed in Drupal CMS and utilised TAPS (TourML). We custom wrote an HTML5 front end in Drupal that supported the TAPS engine and allowed for a mobile website to look and feel like a true iphone/ipod application
