Kia Ora Hauora is a Māori Health workforce development programme aimed at students and current health sector workers to promote health careers as a great career choice!
The programme has been developed in response to the national and international shortage of health sector workers – and the demand for more Māori health professionals in the sector.
Now is the ideal time to get into Health – we need you now!
The Programme is lead by Counties Manukau District Health Board, and links with four regional DHB hubs (Northern, Midland, Central and Southern) who actively deliver the Kia Ora Hauora programme within their regions. Counties Manukau District Health Board also works alongside Te Rau Matatini, a National Māori workforce organisation to engage effectively with the Health sector.
The Kia Ora Hauora game was developed to attract students to sign up and become a member, this worked extremely well and achieved targets in excess of 300% more than expected.
